National Mental Capacity Action Event

I’ve been asked to share word of a forthcoming event organised by the Department of Health, Ministry of Justice and Baroness Finlay of the newly established National Mental Capacity Forum.  The purpose of the event is to:

  • Profile current best practice from around England and Wales
  • Identify MCA improvement priorities for the coming year
  • Gather commitments from attendees for projects and work to improve MCA implementation at the front-line.

It will be held on 15th March.  Further details are available on the SCIE website.  If you, or your organisation, have been involved in action relating to the Mental Capacity Act (including large and small projects), please submit details of this to the forum.  The submission form and further details are available on the event webpage.  I’m looking forward to reading what everyone has been up to around the country!

  1. Hi thank you for sharing this – I’ve speed read it because that’s what we parents have to do! I wonder if parents of young 17 year old and upwards autistic boy/girls who lacks mental capacity should be asked at any point to contribute? Not sure how these things work. Normally without consulting us probably Best wishes
